Partnership Raleigh

Partnership Raleigh is a public-private partnership between the City of Raleigh and the local business community. The goal of this initiative is to provide career exploration and employment opportunities to youth and young adults who live and/or go to school in Raleigh. This partnership benefits all parties involved: the students acquire invaluable employment experience, work-related training, and professional development skills. The business community receives qualified youth employees who may become long-term employees and provide positive contributions to the future of the community.

Our Programs

Community Climate Internship Program: Accepting Applications 

Raleigh Water and the Office of Sustainability has a wide variety of internship opportunities this summer under the City of Raleigh’s Community Climate Internship Program. This is a 10-week (June 2-August 8) PAID internship program for college students.

Specific internship focus areas:

  • Interns focused on Administrative Records management
  • Interns focused on Engineering items related to inventory tracking, asset tracking, and development review
  • Interns focused on analyzing both environmental and engineering data
  • Interns to work in a certified laboratory for testing of water / wastewater samples
  • Interns to assist Raleigh Water's Safety and Emergency Preparedness Team on various safety items, including drafting SOPs
  •  Interns to work in Raleigh Water's Land Management team to help with Farm activities, including operating various agricultural equipment 
  • Interns to assist various trades and operational crews with work orders both in our primary facility and at remote outdoor facilities 
  • Interns to support project implementation for the City of Raleigh Community Climate Action Plan
  • Intern to conduct analysis and making recommendations to advance equity and resilience initiatives 
  • Supports project implementation for the Community Climate Action Plan
  • Conducts analysis and making recommendations to advance equity and resilience initiatives

Pathways to Public Service Fellowship

A six-month cohort-based program for college seniors and recent graduates (ages 17 to 25) interested in gaining real-world, professional work experience in municipal government. 

Cohort II applications are now closed. Applications are typically posted in September.
