City Council Swearing-in Ceremony is Dec. 2

City Council Swearing-In Starts at 5 p.m.

Members of the 2024-2026 Raleigh City Council Term will be sworn into office at a ceremony Monday, Dec. 2, at Meymandi Concert Hall located in the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin will call the meeting to order as seven Council members, including two newly elected members, take their oaths of office.

The event is open to the public and will be livestreamed on the City’s website, YouTube channel, and on RTN channel 11.

Raleigh is a council-manager form of government and the mayor and seven City Council members were elected in November to serve a two-year term. Their first regular City Council meeting is Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. and will be livestreamed on the City's website and YouTube channel.

The Swearing-in Ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. with a drum performance and Land Acknowledgement by the Triangle Native American Society. Free parking is available for the event in both lots located directly across from South Street. There is also parking available in the deck located on the corner of Salisbury and South Streets.

After the program, there will be a reception in the venue lobby as members of the North Carolina Symphony perform.
