Question: Who makes a great Raleigh firefighter and how can I apply?

Answer:  To be a great firefighter, a person should:

  • Be dedicated to helping others through courage, commitment, and compassion.
  • Possess strong communication skills, integrity, an adaptable mindset, self- sacrifice, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to perform under critical situations. 

Eligible candidates must:

  • Be 18 years old when applying
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent (proof required)
  • Have corrected vision of at least 20/30 in both eyes
  • Have a valid driver’s license
