Q: Does my business have to be NCDOA/HUB or NCDOT/DBE certified to do business with the City of Raleigh?
A: No.

Q: Why should I get my business NCDOA/HUB or NCDOT/DBE certified?
A: For construction and repair projects of $300,000 or more, Prime bidders are required to perform Good Faith Efforts to solicit certified underutilized firms to achieve the City’s 15% participation goal.

Q: Does my business have to be registered as a City of Raleigh Supplier or Vendor?
A: Firms that contract directly with the City of Raleigh are required to register as a City supplier or vendor. Please contact the staff with any questions at beop@raleighnc.gov

Q: What are the benefits of the City of Raleigh BEOP Program:
A:  Please visit our webpage to view a list of benefits. 

Q: My business is registered with the North Carolina Secretary of State. Do I still need to certify with the NCDOA HUB office?
A: Yes, The Secretary of State does not certify underutilized firms. The organizations that certify underutilized firms are NCDOA/HUB and NCDOA/DBE. Please see our BEOP Upcoming Projects and Eligibility.

Q: Does my business have to be in North Carolina in order to be certified?
A:  No, but please contact the certifying entities for more information.
