Raleigh Arts is partnering with Vertiprint Raleigh to pioneer a wall printing technology that utilizes cutting-edge techniques to print artwork directly onto brick or concrete. The first mural from this collaboration is being printed this week at Pullen Arts Center and will be on view on an exterior wall for a year.
Jesse White, a local illustrator and the assistant director of Pullen Arts Center, designed the mural to highlight the tools and materials artists use in the studios at Pullen. Jesse worked closely with VertiPrints, drawing the mural by hand and digitizing the files for the vertical printer installation.
About the Artist
Jesse White is an illustrator, author, and muralist who creates whimsical, wonder-filled work that explores the power of imagination and adventure. Nature serves as her throughline, a focus deeply rooted in her childhood in rural North Carolina. The time she spent playing alone in the woods near the Rocky River continues to influence her art, with recurring themes such as skies full of stars, brightly colored moths, leaves of various shapes, and quests through the trees.
