What's Happening
We appreciate your patience as we continue to work on emergency repairs to a major sewer main break on Tryon Road.
Unfortunately, the full reopening of the road will be delayed as our paving contractors are unable to complete the work until next week. The lane closure is now expected to remain in effect until Friday, 9/5.
One lane is open to traffic, but for the safety of our crews and the public, we ask that all drivers please exercise extreme caution and reduce your speed when traveling through the work zone. Your cooperation helps ensure a secure environment for everyone.
Impact
One lane on Tryon Road remains closed and work is ongoing. The full reopening of the road has been delayed and is now expected by Friday, 9/5.
Work Update
We know many of you are wondering about the timeline for the road to fully reopen. We've been coordinating with multiple paving contractors to get Tryon Road repaved as quickly as possible, but their schedules are currently booked. This means the full reopening of the road will be delayed until next week, with the lane closure remaining in effect until further notice. This wasn't the outcome we'd hoped for, and we sincerely appreciate your continued patience as we work to get the road completely open again.
What Else to Know
With the school year now underway, Raleigh Water has coordinated with the Wake County Public Schools transportation department to ensure parents are aware of any temporary changes to bus stops as students head into their second week of classes.
This is an emergency repair. The surrounding water and sewer services should not be affected.
