Traffic Alert: Emergency Road Closure on Tryon Road

Avoid the intersection of Tryon and Brisk Gallop Way

What's Happening

An emergency road closure is in effect at the 4400 block of Tryon Road, near the intersection of Brisk Gallop Way. This is necessary for our crews to perform urgent repairs to a major sewer main break.

Impact

To ensure the safety of our Raleigh Water team and the public, the road is fully closed at this location until further notice. Starting on Sunday, August 17, Eastbound traffic on Tryon Road is being detoured. Drivers should turn left onto Avent Ferry Road, then right onto Lake Dam Road, which will lead them back to Tryon Road.

Work Update

Our Sewer Maintenance crews have determined the damage to the main is extensive and requires more significant repairs. As a result, a pumping system was installed on Sunday evening to manage the flow from the site, and a crew remained on standby overnight to monitor the situation. The road will remain closed until further notice.

What Else to Know

While this is an emergency repair, please be assured that nearby water and sewer services should not be affected. Raleigh Water appreciates your patience and cooperation as our crews work to resolve this issue as quickly and safely as possible.
