Raleigh Water was awarded the highest possible bond rating from the three major credit rating agencies. Moody’s has given Raleigh Water an AAA rating for seven consecutive years. Raleigh Water is only one of 26 utilities in the nation to hold this distinction. Out of those 26, Raleigh Water is one of 14 combined water and sewer utilities to achieve this rating.
Fitch and S&P also gave Raleigh Water AAA ratings this year. The collective recognition from these top rating agencies speaks to the utility's strong financial metrics, robust capital improvement program and long-term planning.
Raleigh Water serves over 630,000 residents in the City of Raleigh as well as the neighboring towns of Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell, and Zebulon.
