Blue Ridge Road is in a new temporary traffic pattern between Homewood Banks Drive and Noremac Drive, and the roundabout is in full operation. The team plans to install the small islands and the rest of the curb and gutter around the roundabout in the coming weeks. The sidewalk in this project section is also open to the public. Crews are now installing the curb and gutter, stormwater infrastructure, and multi-use path along the south side of the street between Glen Eden Drive and Homewood Banks Drive. They are also installing the multi-use path on the north side of the street between Glen Eden Drive and Duraleigh Road.

Traffic Shift Coming Soon!
There is a lot of construction activity along Blue Ridge Road right now, and some significant changes are getting ready to take place. Crews are currently paving between Homewood Banks Drive and Noremac Drive. Once crews complete paving, the team will shift traffic to the new pavement on the northwest side of Blue Ridge Road and will open the new roundabout at Homewood Banks Drive. The team expects the traffic shift to occur either Thursday, April 17, or Monday, April 21.
The contractor is working on Friday, April 18, but no lane closures or flagging operations will be in place.
The tree root bridge near Glen Eden Drive is about 80 percent complete. The ramps from the bridge to the at-grade sidewalk and the decorative handrail still need to be installed. Until crews complete those items, the root bridge section of the sidewalk is closed to the public.
The section of the project from Glen Eden Drive to Duraleigh Road is also coming along. The team continues to install new driveway sections and the asphalt multi-use path.
