The City of Raleigh proudly announces the successful completion of the 2024 Street Resurfacing Program. This year's initiative, which began last spring, has concluded with a remarkable achievement of resurfacing 11 centerline miles and 46 street segments throughout the city.
The annual street resurfacing program is a critical component of Raleigh's commitment to maintaining and improving its road infrastructure. The 2024 season focused on enhancing the safety, usability, and aesthetic quality of our streets, ensuring a smoother and more reliable driving experience for residents.
“We are thrilled to have completed this significant portion of our resurfacing program for 2024,” said Ben Griffin, Street Maintenance Division Manager. “This effort underscores our dedication to providing high-quality roadways that meet the needs of our growing community. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our residents throughout this process.”
The resurfacing work addressed a variety of street conditions, utilizing advanced techniques to extend the lifespan of the pavement and reduce the need for more extensive repairs in the future. The city’s Transportation Department carefully selected streets based on factors such as traffic volume, road condition, and overall impact on the community.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the benefits of the freshly resurfaced streets and report any issues they may encounter to: transportationinfo@raleighnc.gov.
