Big changes are coming to Atlantic Avenue!

Ingram drive closed at Atlantic Ave, starting Monday, Sept. 23.

Update: Due to rain this week, the contractor rescheduled the Ingram Drive street closure and traffic shift from Sept. 16 to Monday, Sept. 23.

Starting Monday, Sept. 23, our construction contractor will close Ingram Drive between Atlantic Avenue and Brentwood Road and implement a new traffic pattern on Atlantic Avenue.

The City’s construction contractor, Carolina Sunrock, will close the Ingram Drive and Atlantic Avenue intersection on Monday, Sept. 23. The intersection will remain closed for 60 days while crews complete significant grading and utility work. This work also requires a new traffic pattern, with traffic being pushed to the west side of Atlantic Avenue.

During this phase, there will be no access to Ingram Drive from Atlantic Avenue. See the detour map below.

Detour map, shows that Ingram Drive is closed between Atlantic Avenue and Brentwood Road.

The City is improving Atlantic Avenue between New Hope Church Road and Highwoods Boulevard. Crash data shows multiple accidents at the Ingram Drive intersection because of limited visibility. So, as part of this project, we are raising the intersection to improve the sight distance issue.

The goal is to make Raleigh roads safe and accessible for all. We understand that this closure may cause some delays or travel inconveniences, and we thank you for your patience as we complete this critical project.
