Poole Road Widening is Complete!
The City is excited to celebrate the completion of the Poole Road Widening Project with a ribbon-cutting event! We made improvements to Poole Road from Maybrook Drive to Barwell Road. Changes include a widened roadway, median, sidewalks, and bicycle facilities.

Art and Poetry Along the Corridor
Public Artist Sharon Dowell designed unique bus shelters and a sculptural bench for the Neuse River trailhead as part of the street improvement project. Her art will provide a welcoming space for transit riders and trailhead visitors while showcasing the creativity of local writers.
Inspired by the work of the Carolina African American Writers Collective, the artwork features haiku by North Carolina poets and collective members Lenard Moore, Patricia A. Johnson, and Valeria Bullock
