About

Macie is the Explorer of Big Ideas, more formally known as the City’s Senior Service Designer. In this role, she applies methods from her training in behavioral science, design research, and public health systems to Strategic Plan and service improvement projects aimed at enhancing service delivery for Raleigh residents. Driven by a deep curiosity about human behavior, she brings a people-centered lens to her work improving how residents interact with government services.

A proud first-generation college graduate, Macie holds a B.A. in Gender Studies and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Georgia, and a Master’s in Public Health with a certificate in innovation from the University of North Carolina.

Outside of work, she enjoys walking in Raleigh’s parks, watching movies, and journaling/reading (and talking about wanting to read more!).

Contact her to learn more about the City’s Strategic Plan projects, efforts to enhance policies through human-centered design and equity-focused approaches, or if you're interested in opportunities for design sprints and workshops.
