Flood Studies Permit
Starting Monday, November 2, Stormwater Flood Studies will be a new application on the City’s Permit Portal. Applications submitted through this new pathway will be routed directly to stormwater staff, providing customers with a more efficient and straightforward process for initiating stormwater review. The application will also use the City’s updated fee structure, including a $250 Simple Flood Study fee. These improvements are intended to enhance the customer experience by simplifying the application process, improving transparency, and facilitating more efficient coordination with Stormwater staff.
What is a Flood Study Permit For?
All work in or near a designated flood hazard area requires a flood study permit. Once a permit is obtained, the construction inspector checks the site for installation of benchmarks and, upon completion, ensures that work is conducted based on what is approved in the permit. The inspector also ensures that all necessary elevation certificates, FEMA or City, are completed for the activity.
