Emergency Communications Statistics

Each year the Raleigh-Wake 911 Emergency Communications Center receives thousands of calls. View some key statistics from each year. 

    2020

    In 2020, the ECC provided countless CPR instructions and assisted with delivery instructions for multiple babies.

    The ECC received 68 total feedbacks which included 15 commendations and 53 complaints.

    The commendations and complaints are summarized below:

    • 15 commendations (seven from residents, eight from service agencies); and,
    • 53 complaints (10 from residents, 43 from services agencies. Of those, 46 were found to be valid, seven were unfounded).

    2019

    In 2019, the ECC provided countless CPR instructions and 14 employees were recognized for cardiac arrest saves. The ECC helped deliver nine babies.

    The ECC received 36 total feedbacks which included five commendations and 31 complaints. 

    The commendations and complaints are summarized below:

    • Five commendations (one from a resident, four from service agencies); and,
    • 31 complaints (nine from residents, 22 from services agencies. Of those, 26 were found to be valid, five were unfounded).

    2018

      Raleigh’s Emergency Communication Center receives more than a million 911 calls each year from a population of about one million residents.

      In 2018, the ECC provided countless CPR instructions that resulted in 18 cardiac arrest saves.

      The ECC received 45 total feedbacks which included 12 commendations and 33 complaints.

      The commendations and complaints are summarized below:

      • 12 commendations (one from a citizen, 11 from service agencies); and,
      • 33 complaints (10 from citizens, 23 from services agencies. Of those, 16 were found to be valid, 17 were unfounded).
