Project Update October 2025

Construction began on October 1, 2024, and was scheduled to last 13 months, with completion expected in November 2025. However, the project completion date has been extended to December 2025. 

The exterior of the building is complete. The construction team also finished and tested the fire protection, exhaust removal, and HVAC systems. The contractor completed all outside site work, including concrete and asphalt paving, retaining walls, and the installation of a stormwater retention pond. 

The contractor is currently working on various interior tasks, including tile and millwork installation, plumbing fixtures, acoustical ceiling tiles, and flooring.

Project Update May 2025

The contractor completed all exterior masonry walls and roof steel framing installation. Interior stud walls are about 90% completed. Underground stormwater structure is completed.

In May, the contractor will work on masonry veneer completion, plumbing, HVAC and electrical rough-ins and starting HVAC ductwork, installing gas piping to the building and Duke Power conduits to the transformer.

Project Update - April 2025

The contractor completed under slab electrical and plumbing rough-in and poured the building slab in all areas except the apparatus bay. The concrete and brick installation is about 80% complete.
In the next month, the contractor will work on completing the concrete and brick work, including exterior finishes and installing the roof's steel framing.

Project Update - Fall 2024

The contractor completed site grading, partial installation of retaining walls (3 out of 5), building footing installation, and the water and sewer tie-in. The contractor is now working on the electrical and plumbing rough-ins and building the masonry walls.
