Battle Ridge Community to Neuse River Trail Greenway Connectors

Neighborhood & Community Connections Program

These projects are part of the Neighborhood & Community Connections (N&CC) ProgramThe N&CC Program is an effort to identify, prioritize, and build new, walkable connections to parks and greenways. The N&CC Program was designed to promote health throughout the City, using geo-spatial modeling and data analysis to guide investment in those communities which are most at-risk of negative health outcomes and most in need of improved access to outdoor recreation opportunities. These N&CC projects are funded through the  2014 Parks Bond Referendum

Two connections will be constructed within the Battle Ridge Community.

  1. The first connection is located at the cul-de-sac at Mechanicsville Run Lane and will connect to the Neuse River Trail. Project Area Map
  2. The second connection is located at Mackinac Island Lane and will also connect to the Neuse River Trail. This connection aligns with the planned greenway corridor connection to Barwell Road Park and connects to the adjacent Battle Ridge community park/playground. Project Area Map
