Atlantic Avenue Multi-Use Path Project

Improving connectivity by connecting North Raleigh to the downtown core

Getting around Atlantic Avenue will soon be easier and safer for people who walk and bike. We are building a new multi-use path from Highwoods Boulevard/Wolfpack Lane to Salvage Yard Drive.

The new path will connect two existing multi-use paths on Atlantic Avenue, creating an approximately 2-mile route that links to Raleigh’s larger bike and pedestrian network.

The project will also improve two challenging areas for people walking and biking: the I-440 underpass and the crossing at Atlantic Avenue and Hodges Street. A dedicated path and improved crossings will make it easier to travel through these areas.

By closing gaps and connecting neighborhoods, this project will create a safer, more comfortable way to travel along Atlantic Avenue—whether you're walking, biking or rolling.
