Raleigh Police Coordinates DWI Saturation Patrol on Capital Boulevard

Over the weekend, RPD's DWI Unit conducted a saturation patrol along the Capital Boulevard corridor from I-40 through downtown.

RPD partnered with multiple agencies, including, local police departments from across Wake County, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, MADD, Forensic Tests for Alcohol, the Magistrates' Office, Wake County Bureau of Forensic Services, and the NC State Highway Patrol.

This collaborative effort resulted in 130 total charges, including:

  • 10 DWI arrests
  • 104 traffic stops
  • 3 drug violations
  • 8 DWLR (driving with  license revoked)
  • 40 speeding charges
  • 4 warrants served
  • 4 careless and reckless
  • 1 weapons violation

This project aligns with the strategic priorities established by Chief Boyce, specifically focusing on operational efficiency and crime reduction strategies.
