Apply for the 2026 Spring Session of RPD Community Police Academy

Sessions include interactive discussions, demonstrations, and opportunities to engage directly with Raleigh police officers

Applications are now open for the 2026 Spring Session of the Raleigh Police Department’s Community Police Academy, a free educational program designed to provide residents and community members with a behind-the-scenes look at how the department operates and serves the community.

The Community Police Academy is a nine to ten-week program that provides participants with insight into Raleigh Police Department policies, procedures, and specialized units. The academy also encourages open dialogue between officers and community members, helping to build understanding, transparency, and trust.

Participants will learn about a wide range of topics, including constitutional law, traffic enforcement, emergency communications, crime analysis, and specialty units such as K-9 and Mounted Patrol. Sessions include interactive discussions, demonstrations, and opportunities to engage directly with Raleigh police officers.

The program is open to individuals who live or work in Raleigh and are 21 years of age or older. Space is limited, and interested applicants are encouraged to apply early.
