The Western BRT Corridor Station Area Plan Community Leaders Group is a group of 16 community members who were appointed by the Raleigh City Council to help with outreach, review project materials, provide feedback and ensure the community’s voice is being included in the process. They meet once a month, anyone is welcome to join.

The Community Leaders Group will meet regularly throughout the project. Meeting minutes will be posted when available.

Community Connectors

The City also employs two part-time paid Community Connectors who serve as paid liaisons between corridor residents and businesses, and the project staff and consultant team.

Their key roles include:

  • Sharing information with the Western Blvd. community to increase the understanding of the Western BRT Station Area Planning project and process.
  • Partnering with city staff to develop effective outreach strategies.
  • Gathering information from residents and discussing key issues that are important for the community.
  • Reinforcing the message that our study is only as strong as the level of community participation we have.
