Planning Academy

Planning and Development staff engage with participants of a Planning Academy.

Apply for the Planning Academy

Are you curious about how planning and development impact Raleigh’s growth—and how you can play a part? Apply now for the free Planning Academy this spring. Classes will be held on Friday, May 29, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Planning Academy is designed to help residents better understand how city planning works and how to get involved in shaping their communities. More than just a learning opportunity, it’s a chance to explore:

  • What guides land development decisions in Raleigh?
  • How to navigate rezoning cases.
  • How and when to get involved in the planning process.
  • Raleigh residents who are 18 or older. Each session is limited to 30 participants.

Applications will be accepted through Sunday, May 17, at 11:59 p.m. Read more about how to apply today!
