Theatre in the Park (TIP), a non-profit community theatre, has been providing engaging performances for over 70 years. The organization is based in the Ira David Wood III Pullen Park Theatre building, a former armory building located northern end of Raleigh’s scenic Pullen Park near Pullen Arts Center and the Gregg Museum of Art & Design.
Each year, TIP presents a varied season each year that blends classic works, contemporary plays, comedies, dramas, musicals, and special events for an audience of more than 30,000. The theatre offers a mix of well-known plays, modern favorites, and locally produced works while showcasing the talents of the community. Its signature production is the annual staging of A Christmas Carol, a long-running Raleigh tradition written and directed by Ira David Wood III, at the Martin-Marietta Center for the Performing Arts.
