Overview

In 2022, the City Council approved the Penny for Parks program, which is a one-cent property tax to support park maintenance projects.

Since 2022, the Penny for Parks program has contributed an average of $11.6 million per year to help us maintain the parks, trails, playgrounds, and facilities Raleigh already enjoys.

Every penny helps keep our parks safe, clean, and welcoming for all.

Funds provided by Penny for Parks have helped us maintain the parks, trails, playgrounds, and facilities Raleigh already enjoys through important facility maintenance and improvement projects, including building repairs, security upgrades, invasive species management, playground renovations, and more.
