Built in 1992 and renovated in 2019, Walnut Creek Athletic Complex contains nine fenced, halogen-lit diamonds with skinned infields and hybrid grass outfields.

Amenities

Amenities include:

  • Underground irrigation (all fields)
  • 18 bullpens
  • 9 newly built scorekeeping areas at the backstop of each field

Emergency medical services are located approximately 1.5 miles from the complex. The complex has basic first aid and AED (automated external defibrillator) equipment available.

Facility Rules

  • No alcohol permitted on City of Raleigh property
  • No pets allowed
  • No bikes, skates, skateboards, or rollerblades permitted inside park
  • Do not leave children unattended without adult supervision
  • No smoking in the plaza or surrounding areas (permitted only in parking lot area)
  • No overnight camping
  • No open flames or portable generators

Adult Athletics

Walnut Creek Athletic Complex is home to the City of Raleigh Adult Softball Leagues for both the spring and fall seasons.

Food Truck Plaza

Walnut Creek Athletic Complex includes a food truck plaza, which provides concessions for the complex during tournaments and City of Raleigh League play.

This is a 204-acre, regionally acclaimed softball complex that recently reopened after a full renovation and it hosts year-round softball and baseball tournaments ranging from youth to adults. It has 9 lighted softball fields and attracts over 40,000 visitors a year.

The Food Truck Plaza is approximately 2000 square feet and includes:

  • Great location, conveniently located in the middle of the complex, near one of our ticket booths
  • Seating options next to the plaza and throughout the complex
  • The Food Truck Plaza has 3 NEMA 14 50R 50 Amp receptacles, as well as a water hose hook-up
  • There is also access to 6/3 & 8/1 SEOW 50 Amp, Outdoor Extension Cords
