Five Points Center for Active Adults

Join us at Five Points Center for Active Adults on Wednesday afternoons to learn with our instructor, Adrienne Garnett. 

Adrienne is an award-winning artist who loves working with artists of any age, and she will guide you through how to channel your feelings into your art. 

Ages: 18 and older
No art experience is necessary

Classes and Registration 

  • Abstract Art: Emotion Analogs and Learning to Read the Language of Line
    Wednesday, June 18, 3-5 p.m., Cost: $6
    Experience different emotions and allow each to be expressed by your pencil. You will gain new insight into many seemingly mysterious works of art. This is a class you don't want to miss.
  • Drawing Folds: Drapery Studies as a Prelude to Everything
    Wednesdays, August 6 - 27, 3-5 p.m., Cost: $21
    The skills for representing drapery can be transferred to any subject, like faces, trees, or animals. This class will give you the skills to represent folds wherever you see them. No art experience necessary. You must bring supplies to class. Supply List: Vine charcoal and kneaded eraser
  • Drawing: Depicting the Head from the Inside Out
    Wednesdays, June 25 - July 30, 3 - 5 p.m., Cost: $21
    Understanding the structure of the human skull helps us to draw, paint, and sculpt the surface landscape of the face. This class will help you feel more empowered in drawing facial structures and expressing emotion in all types of art. You must bring supplies to class. Supply List: Pastel paper, charcoal, and paper/multi-use paper
