Better Together: How Partnership Fueled a Day of Trail Stewardship

A simple conversation between Triangle Trails Initiative and Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources quickly grew into a meaningful partnership focused on volunteerism and community impact.

When an opportunity arose through SAS, the connection was clear—and the collaboration came to life. On April 2, volunteers from SAS and Triangle Trails Initiative gathered at Walnut Creek Wetland Park to support trail restoration. These trails require regular mulching due to the wetland environment and are essential to the park’s nature programming.

Together, each partner played a key role—bringing volunteers, leadership, and expertise to the project. Even on a hot spring day, the group worked hard to improve the trails, creating a lasting impact for park visitors.
