Parks and Recreation

Mine Creek Greenway

Improvements

Project Overview

The existing Mine Creek Trail extends from Sawmill Road in North Raleigh, to the Crabtree Creek Trail. The Mine Creek Greenway was one of the original trails constructed within the Capital Area Greenway system. The section of Mine Creek Greenway included as part of this project extends from Shelley Lake, south to Crabtree Creek Greenway, near North Hills Drive. The proposed improvements include upgrades to the trail to meet current design and construction standards and address the needs of the public. Specifically, improvements include trail realignment and widening, drainage enhancements, improved community access, safety enhancements for at-grade crossings, pavement markings, and pedestrian bridge replacement.
