Project Overview
Green Road Park is a 29-acre community park located at 4201 Green Road in northeast Raleigh. The park is currently undergoing major improvements funded by $4.5 million from the 2022 Raleigh Parks Bond.
The Green Road Park project focuses on enhancing accessibility, expanding recreational opportunities, and upgrading visitor amenities throughout the site. Key improvements include construction of improved accessible pathways connecting park features, development of an entrance plaza with a shade structure, expansion of the playground area, and installation of a new restroom facility.
Additional enhancements include new pickleball courts, electric vehicle charging stations, stormwater management improvements, and site landscaping. The project also includes a public art installation.
Construction began in February 2026 and is expected to continue through early 2027.
During construction, outdoor facilities at Green Road Park remain closed to the public, and outdoor programs hosted at the park have been suspended or relocated. The community center and public library located at the site will remain open during construction.
