Renewable Energy

Renewable energy is energy derived from natural processes that are replenished faster than they are consumed. Solar and geothermal and the most viable renewable energy sources in Raleigh and produce significantly less GHG emissions compared to traditional fossil fuel energy sources. Installing renewable energy technology not only reduces our dependence on high-polluting fossil fuels, but also provides energy cost savings for their connected facilities.  

The City has a long history of supporting renewable energy across Raleigh, both at municipal facilities and supporting programs for residential and commercial installations in the community.
