Inglewood Lane Sidewalk Project

We are installing a new sidewalk!

The Inglewood Lane sidewalk project is the result of a successful petition to the city's Sidewalk Petition Program, received in the winter of 2019.

The City plans to install a five-foot-wide sidewalk on the east side of Inglewood Lane, between Manchester Drive and Yadkin Drive.

Adjustments to the sidewalk width and setback may be included in the final design to avoid significant impacts in certain areas as needed and determined by our Engineering staff.

Design

We have finished the advanced design plans and they are being reviewed by Development Services.

We had a pop-up style meeting on the corner of Yadkin Drive and Inglewood Lane in late October.  City staff was on hand to show the design plans and answer questions about the project.

Not able to attend the meeting? That's ok. Here is a presentation that explains the project.

Construction

Raleigh Water recently replaced aging water and sewer infrastructure along Inglewood Lane. This work was part of their Six Forks Road and Cranbrook Road Water and Sewer Replacement Project. Unfortunately, we could not combine our sidewalk project with their water and sewer project.

We are scheduled to start construction on the new sidewalk this spring or early this summer. We will have a more precise schedule once we have hired a construction contractor. Before construction starts, our team will provide more information regarding the construction schedule and what residents can expect during the construction process.

The project is entering the construction phase. The City has combined this project with a few other sidewalk projects for construction. The other projects are:

We are currently advertising the projects for construction bids, and we expect construction to start in the winter.
