How it Works Why Bag It? Looking Ahead

Make leaf collection easy this fall! Put your yard waste cart and up to 15 biodegradable bags at the curb on your regular yard waste collection day.

How it Works

  • Put leaves and other yard waste (like grass or trimmings) in your City-issued yard waste cart or up to 15 paper bags.
  • Set everything at the curb by 6 a.m. on your pickup day. Our crews will take it from there!

Why Bag It?

  • Keeps leaves out of streets and storm drains.
  • Makes pickup faster and easier.
  • Turns your leaves and yard waste into compost instead of sending them to a landfill.

Looking Ahead

This year is the final season for loose leaf collection (the service where vacuum trucks pick up leaves from the street).  Weekly yard waste pickup will become the standard in Fall 2026. Starting now with your cart or paper bags means you’ll be all set when the weekly service begins.
