Pines at Peach Road
Pines at Peach Road cut the ribbon on 119 new homes, adding to the City’s affordable supply and expanding housing choice for residents at a range of income levels.
The City purchased the land using 2020 Affordable Housing Bond funds and ensured long-term affordability through a 75-year lease. The City further supported the development with a $2.75 million loan. These investments reduce costs and support long-term affordability.
The community will serve households earning between 30 and 60% of the area median income (AMI). In Raleigh, a family of four earns $39,800 at 30% AMI and $79,620 at 60% AMI. Located near the future Southern BRT route, grocery stores, services, and other daily needs, Pines at Peach Road helps connect residents to the essentials that support stability and quality of life.
Birch & Branch
Located near jobs, services and everyday essentials, Birch & Branch will deliver 180 new affordable homes in Southeast Raleigh. The City invested $4.5 million to help move the project forward and ensure long-term affordability. The development serves households earning between 30% and 70% of the area median income and includes a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes.
“This project is more than just housing, it is a community,” said Mayor Janet Cowell. “Integrated affordable housing is key to a growing Raleigh, and I look forward to working with our partners at the county and in the development community to building more housing near grocery stores, transit, and parks.
The City’s Affordable Housing Plan focuses on expanding housing choices and keeping the city within reach for more residents. Investments like these help turn that vision into real homes people can afford.
Through these partnerships and investments, Raleigh is working to solve the affordable housing puzzle, one piece at a time.
