The proposal describes a new initiative that goes beyond day-to-day operations, designed specifically to test and implement innovative strategies. It is guided by clear goals, measurable objectives, and a well-defined workplan that outlines key activities, timelines, and milestones to ensure effective implementation.
  • Leverages Partnerships

What are some examples of potential projects?

Below are a few example projects to help spark your creativity. This list is just a starting point—not a limit. We want to hear your bold, original ideas. What’s your big idea for impact?

A nonprofit could host a Sustainability Expo to help small businesses discover practical, cost-saving solutions that also reduce their environmental impact. The event would feature local vendors, service providers, and experts offering resources on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable materials. By connecting small businesses with accessible tools and guidance, the nonprofit would empower them to adopt greener practices while lowering operational costs.

A business could create a collective bargaining cohort to make sustainable products, services, or materials more accessible to small businesses. By pooling demand, the cohort would negotiate discounted rates on items like compostable packaging, energy-efficient equipment, or green cleaning services. This approach would lower the cost barrier for small businesses seeking to adopt environmentally friendly practices, while strengthening the local green economy.

An organization could create a sustainable business training program to help small businesses reduce their carbon footprint. The program would offer workshops, tools, and one-on-one support focused on practical strategies like energy reduction, waste diversion, and sustainable sourcing. By building knowledge and capacity, the training would empower businesses to operate more sustainably and contribute to broader climate goals.
