Housing Homelessness Project

Project Name Description Amount Date Approved
Housing Homelessness Project

Raleigh acquired a hotel to ensure residents with barriers to housing could remain stably housed during the pandemic. Future plans for the hotel include mixed occupancy, combining the existing extended-stay model with opportunities to provide permanent supportive housing and other types of affordable housing.

CASA, an experienced non-profit affordable housing developer, will manage the property and coordinate the delivery of services to both existing guests and new guests who will occupy the permanent supportive housing units.

Through this project, individuals and families faced with economic challenges during Covid were able to obtain or maintain affordable housing.

$10 million Council approved - Sept. 21, 2021

The City closed on the hotel on Sept. 24, 2021
