Raleigh Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin and Police Chief Estella Patterson recently showed incredible bravery by rappelling down the towering 30-story Wells Fargo building to support the Special Olympics North Carolina. The thrilling annual fundraiser, known as "Over the Edge," aims to raise funds for the 40,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state.

More than 100 other participants, each raising a minimum of $1,000 for Special Olympics North Carolina, took the leap a day later. "Over the Edge" is expected to raise almost $150,000 this year. These funds will be instrumental in creating sports opportunities and promoting inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Donations are still being accepted, offering a chance for everyone to contribute to the cause. The mayor and police chief's daring descent serves as a reminder of the community's commitment to making a positive impact and championing inclusion for all.
