The thrilling annual fundraiser, known as "Over the Edge," aims to raise funds for the 40,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state.
More than 100 other participants, each raising a minimum of $1,000 for Special Olympics North Carolina, took the leap a day later. "Over the Edge" is expected to raise almost $150,000 this year. These funds will be instrumental in creating sports opportunities and promoting inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Donations are still being accepted, offering a chance for everyone to contribute to the cause. The mayor and police chief's daring descent serves as a reminder of the community's commitment to making a positive impact and championing inclusion for all.
