Fire Watch and Emergency Equipment Repair Notifications

Notify Raleigh Fire about an Emergency Equipment Repair

When the required fire protection system (sprinkler system, fire pump, alarm system, etc.) is out of service in a building, the Fire Department must be notified immediately by emailing repair@raleighnc.gov

The email must include:

  • The scope of the work; and,
  • Type of fire protection needing repair.

Once the email has been sent, you will receive an automated email response with quick links and instructions for inspections and permits.

Refer to Technical Bulletin TB-8 Alarm Repair and Replacement for fire alarm repairs.

Report a Fire Watch

The RFD Fire Marshal or designee may require a building owner to provide a fire watch if a fire protection system fails, if there are an excessive number of accidental activations or nuisance alarms, or a special circumstance or event. The building owner determines the personnel to conduct the fire watch.
