Take This Opportunity to Provide Feedback on Our 911 Center

You can help the Raleigh-Wake Emergency Communications Center further enhance its operations! The center is asking the public to provide feedback on how it complies with industry standards and delivers public safety services. The deadline to provide feedback is July 15. Asking residents for comments is an annual requirement related to the center’s accreditation process.

You can provide feedback on the center’s:

  • Compliance with CALEA standards
  • Engagement with the community
  • Delivery of public safety services
  • Overall candidacy for accredited status

The accreditation program is administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA). Agencies must comply with specific standards in seven areas. They are:

  • Organization
  • Direction and supervision
  • Human resources
  • Recruitment, selection and promotion
  • Training
  • Operations
  • Critical incidents, special operations, and Homeland Security

For more information about the standards, visit the CALEA website.

How Can I Provide Comments?

The comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the agency, such as the Raleigh-Wake ECC, with information to support continuous improvement.
