Preservation and Green Space

Preservation and green space strategies like tree planting, increasing pollinator habitat, and parks acquisitions support local food access, increase physical and mental health resilience in our community, reduce urban heat islands and provide a home to urban wildlife. Trees create and define spaces; connect people to others and nature; and benefit the environment by consuming carbon, cooling the air, and collecting rainwater.  The City of Raleigh is always working to preserve green spaces and to increase access for all residents for the health and resilience of our whole community.
