Jane Harrison

District D

Jane Harrison was elected to represent District D on the Raleigh City Council in 2022. She serves as Chair of the Growth & Natural Resources Committee and is a member of the Transportation & Transit Committee. She is a coastal economics specialist with North Carolina Sea Grant, an organization based at NC State University and focused on ocean, coastal and watershed resource management. She serves on the faculty at NC State University in the College of Natural Resources and Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics.

Council Member Harrison has a B.A. in international studies and a M.S. in environmental economics, both from The Ohio State University. She earned her Ph.D. in natural resource management from Oregon State University.

Her passions are rock climbing and reading.
