Project Overview

Triangle-based artists are invited to apply to turn ordinary trash bins into unique works of art. This fleet of artistic waste receptacles will be deployed during festivals and special events in Downtown Raleigh. The goal is to bring a pop of color to Downtown happenings and encourage residents to place their waste in bins. 

This initiative is funded by the City’s Office of Special Events and managed by Artsplosure in collaboration with Solid Waste Services and Raleigh Arts.

Budget and Eligibility

This is a paid opportunity open to all artists residing in the Triangle, including Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas. Each selected artist will receive an initial $100 materials stipend, and an additional $400 upon completion of the project, for a total of $500.

Applications must be submitted no later than Monday, October 14 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
