Local Artists to Create Murals on Downtown Streeteries

Murals will be installed this spring and summer

New artwork is coming to downtown Raleigh! Twelve local artists will soon paint colorful murals on downtown streeteries.

A streetery converts on-street parking spaces and is typically located outside of a business. Streeteries provide outdoor seating for the patrons of the business during its hours of operation.

Over the last two years, nine city-funded streeteries were deployed in the downtown core and more are expected to be installed in 2024. At times, the streeteries have been vandalized with graffiti tags. In an effort to bring more art to downtown Raleigh and deter future vandalism, the City is working with local artists to paint the wooden structures.

Mural Artists

The local artists who will be creating murals are SpclSigns, Alison Hawkins, Clark Hipolito, the team of Ray and Jun, Zac Bender, Sean Kernick, Anna Payne Rogers, Dino Valentini, Sarahlaine Calva, Britt Flood, and Matt Mahler.

Stay tuned for additional details on artwork locations and when murals will be installed.

A Project of the Office of Special Events
