Streamlined Parking Permit Applications Are Here

Renew yours today!

It’s that time of year; time to re-apply for your residential parking permit! We’ve got some exciting news this year that will help you streamline the application process!

We have a brand-new permit portal that’s easier than ever to access and keep track of your permit progress. You can access the new portal at Raleigh New Parking Portal. As a heads-up, first-time visitors will need to create a new account.

Ready to apply for your permit?

Select a permit type from the drop down to be able to start a new permit application.

  • Select your permit zone (if you don’t know your zone, please contact our office).
  • Select your cycle block.
  • Enter the permit details.

Last, verify your information, enter your payment, and submit. That’s it!

What documents can I submit for proof of residency?

For permanent residents/homeowners, please submit a current utility bill (electric, gas or water).

For temporary residents, please submit either a complete lease or notarized landlord affidavit. It’s important for us to verify the end of a lease term because many leases do not end the last day of the calendar year. For example, if you’re leasing a home and the lease ends July 31, so does your parking permit. This gives the new residents the benefit of parking with a residential permit during their lease term.

If you’re renewing your lease, no problem! Just send us a copy of your new lease or updated landlord affidavit and we’ll extend your parking permit until the end of the year (or end of your new lease term).

Daily residential guest permit

If you have a valid permit and have guests who will be visiting you during permit enforcement hours, they’ll need a guest permit. You can purchase these permits online through your portal account or in our office. While we’re happy to provide these permits for purchase, please keep in mind we do monitor for misuse of these permits.

Special Circumstances

We do understand there are circumstances when someone who doesn’t live at your home full time needs a permit, such as a nurse or nanny. Please reach out to our customer service office so we can discuss the documentation needed for those permits.

We apologize for any inconvenience the re-application process may cause, but this annual process ensures that only current residents are eligible to park in the residential permit zones and eliminates the potential for oversaturation by non-eligible parkers.

As always, we’re happy to assist you with permit requests or questions about permits in person at our office at: 310 W. Martin St., Suite 109, Raleigh, NC 27601 or you can call us at (919) 996-3996.
