A new traffic signal is now in place at the intersection of Midtown Market Avenue and Perry Creek Road in northeast Raleigh. This signal will help improve safety and make it easier for people to travel to River Bend Elementary School and nearby neighborhoods.
The intersection also includes crosswalks with accessible pedestrian signals (APS). These signals make sounds to help people with vision impairments know when it is safe to cross the street.
As the 5401 North area continues to grow, this improvement will help support safer travel for everyone.
The City of Raleigh’s Vision Zero Program funded and managed the construction of this project. Vision Zero aims to reduce and prevent serious injuries and deaths on our roadways while creating a safer and more accessible transportation system for all.
