New Signal and Crosswalk Enhance Safety at Millbrook and Town and Country

City of Raleigh and NCDOT partnership

A new traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of Millbrook Road and Town and Country Road.

Millbrook and Town and Country intersection

This project will make it safer and easier to access destinations by car and on foot.

The traffic signal was installed here because of a pattern of crashes. In the last five years, there were multiple crashes which a signal could have helped prevent. In many occasions, a vehicle turning left from Town and County Road was struck by a vehicle on Millbrook Road. The new signal will help drivers safely turn out of Town and County Road.

A new crosswalk with pedestrian signals was installed across Town and Country Road. This will help residents safely access neighborhoods and shopping centers. The curb ramps have been rebuilt to be wheelchair accessible. To use the crosswalk, press the button and wait for the “walk” symbol, then cross the street.

This project is a result of a partnership between the City of Raleigh and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). Raleigh's Vision Zero team identified the need for this project. NCDOT funded, designed, and built the project. Raleigh's Vision Zero program aims to eliminate deaths on our roadways.
