Holiday Sausage Balls

In each issue of Raleigh Fire News, we’ll disclose our firefighters’ favorite dishes and let you know what you need to do to eat like a firefighter!

These scrumptious sausage balls are a holiday a favorite!

Ingredients

1 pound of sausage (hot or mild, fresh sausage is preferred)
3 cups of Bisquick
1 cup of fancy shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Knead all ingredients together until the mixture is like a loaf.
  4. Pinch off small portions and roll into a ball, a little smaller than a golf ball.
  5. Place balls on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Cook the balls in the preheated over for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool and enjoy!
