Assistant Director Amanda Talley Rolle began her law enforcement career at the Raleigh Police Department in 1991. She first served in the Field Operations Division as an officer before being promoted to detective, then Sergeant. She left the department to pursue personal and academic goals. She returned to the RPD as the Chief of Staff. Chief Rolle is a self-described lifelong learner in the perpetual pursuit of knowledge and skills to improve individual and organizational outcomes. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Criminal Justice from North Carolina State University; a Master of Science (MS), a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Resource Development and Adult Education; and a certificate in Homeland Security from the Bush School of Government and Public Service, from Texas A&M University. 

As Assistant Director of Community Engagement, she oversees the Community Engagement Division.
