The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) works with 9-1-1 professionals nationwide to establish industry leading standards, training, and certifications.
This year the North Carolina Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) has awarded the Raleigh-Wake Emergency Communications Center as the communication center of the year. The center is recognized for its collaboration with other agencies, creating an environment of continuous learning and stewardship, and a place that empowers staff through training. The award will be presented on Wednesday May 3 at the North Carolina Public Safety Communications Conference in Wilmington.
Dominick Nutter, Emergency Communications Director said, “I salute my team’s unwavering commitment to outstanding personal performance. Our achievements are shaped by the strength of the foundations we set. This award recognizes the daily efforts of each member of our department to make the City of Raleigh a safe place to live. “
The NENA serves its members and the greater public safety community as the only professional organization solely focused on 9-1-1 policy, technology, operations, and education issues. With more than 16,000 members in 52 chapters across the United States and around the globe, NENA promotes the implementation and awareness of 9-1-1, as well as international three-digit emergency communications systems.
