Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration

As we mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Raleigh’s Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration will return to Dix Park!  

ABC11/WTVD-TV is our partner in presenting this family-friendly event on Saturday, July 4, starting at 6 p.m. Enjoy music, activities, food, and the main event, fireworks at 9:30 p.m. 

Event Schedule: Saturday, July 4 at Dix Park

  • 5:30 p.m.
    Downtown shuttles begin from Moore Square
  • 6:00 p.m.
    Gates open at Dix Park; Food trucks, music, and activities begin
  • 9:00 p.m.
    Last shuttle leaves from Moore Square for Dix Park
  • 9:30 p.m.
    FIREWORKS!
  • 10:00 p.m.
    Event concludes; Shuttles begin returning attendees to Moore Square

What to Expect

This is a fireworks-focused celebration, with plenty to enjoy before the show:

Getting to Dix Park

You have options! There is no public parking available at Dix Park for this event, but there are several ways to get to the celebration. 

Parking Options

Park & Ride Shuttle

 

Park in one of the City of Raleigh downtown parking decks ($10 flat rate event parking) and hop on a free shuttle.  

  • Shuttles begin at 5:30 p.m. and depart from Moore Square. 

ADA Parking

 

Accessible parking is available for attendees requiring accommodations. A valid state-issued handicap placard, permit, or license plate is required to access ADA parking, and the person the credential is issued to must be in the vehicle.

  • Enter at Goode Street from Lake Wheeler Road and follow staff directions to designated parking lots 
  • An ADA shuttle will transport attendees to the Big Field 

Free Event Parking

 

Limited free parking is available at NC State University Centennial Campus on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees parking in these locations should plan to walk to the Big Field at Dix Park.

  • Partners Way Deck – 851 Partners Way Southwest 
  • Oval West Deck – 914 Partners Way 

 

Arriving later? If you plan to arrive after 8:00 p.m., we highly recommend parking in downtown Raleigh ($10 flat rate event parking) and taking the free Park & Ride shuttle from Moore Square.

Non Parking Options

Walk, Bike, or Scooter

 

Take advantage of nearby greenways, bike routes, and scooter access to get to the event. Recommended routes include:

  • Rocky Branch Greenway via Hunt Drive and Western Boulevard 
  • Centennial Bikeway Connector via Blair Drive and Centennial Parkway 

 

Designated bike and scooter parking will be available at:

  • Hunt Drive and Western Boulevard 
  • Blair Drive and Centennial Parkway 
  • Chapel – Parking Lot C 

Public Transit

 

Take GoRaleigh routes to Dix Park.

  • Route 11 Avent Ferry
    Drop off at Western Boulevard and Hunt Drive (east side) 
  • Route 21 Caraleigh
    Drop off at Lake Wheeler Road and Goode Street (west side) 

Rideshare

 

Uber, Lyft, taxis, and family/friend drop-offs will be available on both the east and west sides of Dix Park.

  • 1030 Richardson Drive (east side) 
  • Centennial Parkway & Blair Drive (west side)

No Ticket or Registration Needed

No sign-up or registration is necessary. If you plan to take a shuttle from Moore Square, please submit this form. It is not required, but it will help us get a head count.
