As we mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Raleigh’s Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration will return to Dix Park!
ABC11/WTVD-TV is our partner in presenting this family-friendly event on Saturday, July 4, starting at 6 p.m. Enjoy music, activities, food, and the main event, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Downtown shuttles begin from Moore Square - 6:00 p.m.
Gates open at Dix Park; Food trucks, music, and activities begin - 9:00 p.m.
Last shuttle leaves from Moore Square for Dix Park - 9:30 p.m.
FIREWORKS! - 10:00 p.m.
Event concludes; Shuttles begin returning attendees to Moore Square

What to Expect
This is a fireworks-focused celebration, with plenty to enjoy before the show:
- Fireworks show
- DJ and live music
- Craft station
- Lawn games
- Shaded picnic area
- Food and beverage vendors (no alcohol permitted)
Park & Ride Shuttle
Park in one of the City of Raleigh downtown parking decks ($10 flat rate event parking) and hop on a free shuttle.
- Shuttles begin at 5:30 p.m. and depart from Moore Square.
ADA Parking
Accessible parking is available for attendees requiring accommodations. A valid state-issued handicap placard, permit, or license plate is required to access ADA parking, and the person the credential is issued to must be in the vehicle.
- Enter at Goode Street from Lake Wheeler Road and follow staff directions to designated parking lots
- An ADA shuttle will transport attendees to the Big Field
Free Event Parking
Limited free parking is available at NC State University Centennial Campus on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees parking in these locations should plan to walk to the Big Field at Dix Park.

Arriving later? If you plan to arrive after 8:00 p.m., we highly recommend parking in downtown Raleigh ($10 flat rate event parking) and taking the free Park & Ride shuttle from Moore Square.
Walk, Bike, or Scooter
Take advantage of nearby greenways, bike routes, and scooter access to get to the event. Recommended routes include:
- Rocky Branch Greenway via Hunt Drive and Western Boulevard
- Centennial Bikeway Connector via Blair Drive and Centennial Parkway
Designated bike and scooter parking will be available at:
- Hunt Drive and Western Boulevard
- Blair Drive and Centennial Parkway
- Chapel – Parking Lot C
Public Transit
Take GoRaleigh routes to Dix Park.

Drop off at Western Boulevard and Hunt Drive (east side)

Drop off at Lake Wheeler Road and Goode Street (west side)
Rideshare
Uber, Lyft, taxis, and family/friend drop-offs will be available on both the east and west sides of Dix Park.

No Ticket or Registration Needed
No sign-up or registration is necessary. If you plan to take a shuttle from Moore Square, please submit this form. It is not required, but it will help us get a head count.

For everyone’s safety, the Big Field at Dix Park will be fenced, and all attendees will enter through designated gates with security screening. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for entry. To help keep the event safe and enjoyable for all, prohibited items will not be allowed inside the fenced event area.
First in Freedom Parade
A downtown parade organized by the Celebrate America Foundation and N.C. Department of Labor to honor the nation's founding and North Carolina's role in the fight for independence

North Carolina Freedom Fest
A free celebration organized by N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources featuring live music, food trucks, history exhibits, and family activities

America's Cookout
A fun, family-friendly community event organized by the City of Raleigh. Enjoy games, activities, food, and opportunities to connect with City departments as we honor our shared history and build stronger community connections.
