Sanderford Road Park Comfort Station and Picnic Shelter

Sanderford Road Park originally opened on August 11, 2009, and consists of approximately 24.3 acres located in Southeast Raleigh. This project consists of a new comfort station and a picnic shelter that are accessibility (ADA) ready. The new comfort station is constructed with noncombustible material and the new picnic shelter is an all-metal structure.

Design

The project is currently in 95% design phase. Timmons Group will provide civil engineering and landscape architectural design. A schematic design site plan layout has been prepared for the new comfort station and new picnic shelter.

History

Sanderford Road Park consists of approximately 24.3 acres located in Southeast Raleigh. The western boundary of the site has a frontage of approximately 700 feet along Sanderford Road beginning just north of Fire Station Ten. The site’s northern boundary abuts Foxfire Subdivision, and Foxtrot Road presently dead-ends at the property line.

The center consists of multipurpose rooms, computer lab, warming kitchen and after school & preschool programs. Outdoor amenities such as tennis courts, a basketball court, ball fields, playground, walking trails, and open space are available at this park.
